TATA AGRICO TIE UP WITH HARIYALI KISAAN BAZAAR IN NORTH

Tata Agrico, the agri- implement division of Tata steel Ltd. has entered into a business venture with Hariyali Kisaan Bazaar in North India. At present, organised rural retailing in India is witnessing a boom as large numbers of corporate houses are making way to the hinterlands

Hariyali Kisaan Bazaar (HKB) is the rural retail initiative by DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd., an innovative and pioneering effort aimed at empowering the farmer by addressing to all his occupational requirements - availability of quality agri inputs - seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, implements and agronomy services - contract farming, credit to farmers etc.

According to the business venture agreed upon, Tata Agrico's product will be available in all the Hariyali Kisaan Bazaar outlets across North India with products like Powrah, Sickle etc for the farmer community. The main objective of this business venture of Tata Agrico is to reach out to the farmer community with its wide variety of products in the rural interiors of the country. Farmers will now have the easy availability of genuine Tata Agrico products at reasonable price controlled by the Tata Steel Ltd.

Tata Agrico will be conducting demonstrations among farmers at the HKB outlets and educate them on the quality and value of using Agrico products and also would be taking suggestions for designing the products for more user friendly.

Tata Agrico believes that with this agreement they would be reaching out to the target audience at larger number, while Hariyali Kisaan Bazaar believes that this would help them in enriching their product and service portfolio and can claim to be the one stop shop for complete farm solutions.

Presently there are 28 Hariyali Kisaan Bazaar outlets in North India, spread across in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
